Karoline Georges, born in Montreal, Canada, is an interdisciplinary artist and writer who first trained as a dancer before studying interdisciplinary art, cinema and art history. Influenced by transhumanism, her artistic research is guided by her quest for a different kind of sublime — a polymorphic, hybrid sublime. Taking the form of video, 3D modeling, literature, sound and virtual photography, her works are populated by digital avatars, clones and networked consciences; through them, she seeks a digital form of transcendence, poetry and spirituality.
She has exhibited works throughout Canada, Europe and the Americas, most notably at FILE Electronic Language International Festival in Brazil, at Athens Digital Arts Festival, at the Rencontres Internationales Paris / Berlin / Madrid, the International Biennial of Contemporary Art of Cartagena, the Vancouver Visible Verse Festival, ORANGE, Contemporary Art Event of Saint-Hyacinthe, the International Biennial of Poets in Val-de-Marne, Mois de la Poésie, La Bande Vidéo and Festival Voix d'Amériques.
Her poetic project LANDMARKS was part of Lumen Prize's 2017 longlist (UK). In 2012, she received the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec's prize for artistic creation. In 2016, she won the Futurefest Art Prize (London, UK).
